DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — New Drake basketball coach Mark Phelps has hired a coaching staff.

Phelps, who took over the Bulldogs last month, has hired three assistants — Justin Ohl, Mike Gibson and Kareem Richardson.

Ohl is the only full-time holdover from the staff of Keno Davis, who left Drake for Providence College. Gibson spent last season as director of basketball operations at Arizona State, where Phelps was an associate head coach. Richardson was an assistant last season at Missouri-Kansas City.

Phelps announced the hirings on Monday. Now he can focus on his wedding this Saturday on Grand Cayman Island in the Caribbean
