IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) — Iowa running back Shonn Greene and linebacker Pat Angerer have been named the Big Ten’s offensive and defensive players of the week.
It’s the first time the Hawkeyes have swept both honors since the conference started handing them out in 1987.
Greene rushed for a career-high 217 yards and four touchdowns to lead Iowa (5-3, 2-2 Big Ten) past Wisconsin, 38-16. Greene tied a school and Kinnick Stadium record with 24 points, and his 217 yards rushing equaled the sixth-best total in school history.
Angerer had a career-high 16 tackles and two interceptions against the Badgers.
Iowa is off this week. The Hawkeyes face Illinois on Nov. 1.
