Support appreciated for high school food drive

OTTUMWA — We just wanted to say thank you to all the people who supported us during the Ottumwa High School Food Drive. Our class brought in the highest number of items per students (115 cans per student). We could not have collected so many food items without the support of our family, friends and community members. We went out into the community knocking door-to-door for two nights. We found that Ottumwans are very generous. What started only as a class competition progressed to us feeling really proud of what we were doing for the community. We are very proud of our accomplishments.

We also wanted to thank the OHS Interact Club for sending us to the movies as a reward. ‘Thank you’ also goes to the Ottumwa 8 Theater for giving us free popcorn and to the food bank for a surprise pizza party. This proves that when you do good things, good things come back to you.

We encourage everyone to continue contributing to this worthy cause throughout the year. We wanted to wish everyone in Ottumwa Happy Holidays and a Happy 2013!
