Political hypocrisy in corrections complaint

Ottumwa Courier

---- — I'm writing this in response to Mr. Homan's letter, which criticized the current governor's policies. I'll admit, I'm not a fan of Gov. Branstad.

That said, leave it to a union leader to politicize a prison escape. Mr. Homan, where were you when prisoners escaped from various facilities across the state during the governorships of Chet Culver and Tom Vilsack, before him? I don't recall reading any critical letters from you, at that time. We had very dangerous folks escape from Ft. Madison during Gov. Culver's watch in 2005 or 2006, but you were silent. It wouldn't be prudent for a union leader to criticize a Democrat politician though, would it?

In a time when this country could use a lot more integrity and leadership, you choose to continue with the same type of hypocrisy that got us into the mess we currently face as a nation.

It's only a problem on the watch of your political adversaries, not when it happens under your guys.

Your hypocrisy knows no bounds.
