Time to move on from election

OTTUMWA — In response to the misguided and misinformed letter writer seeking peace by secession — forget it, we won’t let you out without a fight.

Nothing personal, but your attitude over losing an election your side even tried to rig is quite appalling. At least you know how many of us felt during the 12 years of Reagan/Bush and eight years of the rule of a president selected and installed by a stacked and biased Supreme Court. You can waste your time being bitter or you can get over it all. Besides, for many of us on the True Left, Obama is merely only cosmetically different from your candidate. He’ll throw us all under the bus the same as Romney would have.

As for secession, don’t even think about it. We won’t allow even one square inch of the United States go to become a homophobic and sexist theocracy. There has not been, is not now and will never be a Christian nation allowed here without the death of several millions over a period of decades. Even if you win, you’ll only rule over ashes. If you lose, you might as well stay here. We’ll seek you out.

I’m not one to knock another’s religious beliefs without due cause. I don’t enjoy hurting anyone’s feelings. Still, if you persist in your ways, you’d better hope and pray the Dispensationalists are correct about a soon coming Rapture. That’ll happen before any of your plans come to pass.

Get over it!
