Promiseland Fest an amazing event

On July 12 and 13, Ottumwa experienced one of the most amazing events I have witnessed since moving here.

Promiseland Fest was started last year as a positive message outreach to this community, attended by approximately 1,800 people. We were so thankful to be able to rent the Greater Ottumwa Park for 2013 for greater accessibility. The message of encouragement and the love of Jesus Christ was shared with somewhere between 3,000-5,000 people! To see thousands of people sitting under the positive message of Jesus Christ and his salvation, people that may not attend “church,” was great!

Nate Grooms, our producer, gathered an amazing group of talent for this event. Highlighted by Steven Cooper on Friday night, and Nine Lashes and Thousand Foot Krutch on Saturday night. I didn’t know who these guys were until last year ... I am an old lady ... but let me tell you, the young people know. They are respected as standing firm in their faith while bringing the Word to thousands through music! Thank you Ottumwa for receiving PLF! We hope to be an annual event! The revenue to the city will grow. We had people here from all over the Midwest, youth groups and individuals, churched and unchurched alike. Practically no security issues!

Churches from many denominations working together! Our mission is to reach everyone with the love of Christ, and our passion is to unite this community in that same love. I was disappointed that this large event did not make the front page of the Courier but thankful it was at least in it. This was a big deal, Ottumwa. Thousands of people don’t flock to Ottumwa for many things, but this was one of them! Thank you for your support, and we look forward to 2014!
