Thank you, Sen. Chelgren

Ottumwa Courier

---- — Finally, an elected official who takes their oath to the Constitution seriously.

Since being elected in 2010, Senator Mark Chelgren has been a warrior for southeast Iowa. By taking every bill and vetting it though the Iowa Constitution, Senator Chelgren has become a breath of fresh air compared to many elected officials who don’t vote for what is best to the people they represent but vote to satisfy special interest groups or to benefit their own personal interests. Since Senator Chelgren was elected, he has helped with the effort to take Iowa from being in debt to having a budget surplus and all emergency funds fully funded. He also recently voted for the largest tax cut in the state’s history. I would like to see all elected officials treat the state budget spending as Senator Chelgren does. He looks at spending items to be voted on as if the money were his own.

Thanks, Senator Chelgren, for not compromising your oath and for fighting for us in southeast Iowa.
