Miller-Meeks kicks off campaign

Local doctor wants seat in Congress

Of the eight Miller children, six joined the military. “We were raised to answer the call,” she added.

On her Web site, Miller-Meeks posted her ideas for these issues: Realigning health care, reforming Social Security, revitalizing the G.I. Bill and reconstructing the tax code.

Miller-Meeks faces two other Republican opponents in the June 3 primary — Peter Teahan of Cedar Rapids and Lee Harder of Hillsboro. The winner will then face Democratic incumbent Dave Loebsack of Mount Vernon in the general election.
