BREAKING NEWS: Mystic murder investigation update

CENTERVILLE – Authorities announced Monday that the reward for information in a Mystic homicide is increasing by another $10,000.

Elmer "Chuck" Deatsch died two weeks ago after being shot in his home just outside Mystic. The Appanoose County Sheriff's Department quickly declared the death a homicide, but has largely remained quiet about the investigation. The department announced a $10,000 reward for information leading to an arrest last week. Sheriff Gary Anderson said the reward is an investigative tool that can give people incentive to come forward with information.

The additional money comes from an insurance company.
