Honey Creek gets ready for summer visitors

New developments meant to help make Honey Creek a true resort destination

By PAT SHAVER Courier staff writer

The state drained the lake last spring after the pipe that runs through the dam started leaking. The pipe gives the DNR the ability to raise or lower the lake’s level.

“I think all of us were a bit surprised with how the lake has risen,” said Commissioner Bill Bird.

“It’s really an exciting project,” said Gregory Drees, chairman of the commission. “You really have a jewel here.”
