Published May 20, 2008 11:43 pm - Davis County school board offering refund Money will be returned to students who paid tuition for dual credit classes By MARK NEWMAN Courier staff writer BLOOMFIELD — We’ll give the money back.
That’s the unofficial decision made by the Davis County school board regarding refunds to students mistakenly charged for college-credit classes at Davis County High School. In a press release Tuesday from the district, they said the “Davis County Board of Education has made the decision to give a full refund to students who paid tuition for dual credit classes at Davis County High School beginning with the 1999-2000 school year through the 2007-08 school year.” How much that could cost is not being revealed at this time. “I can’t go into any more detail until the board acts on this,” Superintendent Sam Miller said. He said that is because while a decision has been made, it won’t be “official” until the board votes in June. Another part of the reason there’s no estimate is they don’t know how many alumni will request a refund, Miller said. “The board believes that giving a full tuition refund is the right thing to do,” the release stated.
