Fair queen and princess candidates are named



ELDON — Four area young women will compete for the 2009 Wapello County Fair Queen and Fair Princess crowns.

The contest will begin at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the grandstand at the Wapello County Fairgrounds in Eldon.

The three young women vying for the queen title include:

• Dusty Thompson, the daughter of Chris and Craig Thompson of Eldon. She is currently a student at Southeastern Community College.

• Tonni Engle, the daughter of Julie Engle of Ottumwa. She will be a senior at Ottumwa High School this fall.

• Megan Orman, the daughter of David and Leslie Orman of Ottumwa. She will be a senior at Eddyville-Blakesburg this fall.

The one young woman vying for the princess title is:

• Ashley Sheedy, the daughter of Misty Sheedy and Jason Songer of Ottumwa. She will be a freshman at Cardinal High School this fall.
