Two arrested in Keokuk County drug busts
SIGOURNEY — Authorities announced a pair of Keokuk County arrests on Wednesday, the results of investigations into meth sales.
The first arrest came almost two weeks ago when members of the Keokuk County Sheriff’s Office, Iowa Division of Narcotics Enforcement, Southeast Iowa Inter-Agency Drug Task Force and the Washington County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at the Kim Wasson residence located at 302 Highway 22, Kinross, in Keokuk County.
Investigators found items related to the manufacture of methamphetamine and arrested Kim Wasson, 53. Wasson was charged with conspiracy to manufacture less than 5 grams of Methamphetamine, a Class C felony.
The second arrest took place Tuesday, when authorities executed a search warrant at the Thomas Tad Wilson residence at 300 Broadway St., Kinross. Like Wasson, Wilson was thought to be involved in manufacturing meth.
Wilson, 46, was arrested and charged with manufacture of more than 5 grams of methamphetamine, a Class B felony, and possession of a precursor (pseudoephedrine), a Class D felony. Wilson is currently being held in the Keokuk County Jail with a $100,000 bond.
