Ottumwan arrested on meth charges

OTTUMWA — Area law enforcement says it broke up an alleged meth maker’s operation in Ottumwa on Wednesday morning.

Officers from the Iowa State Patrol Tactical Unit, Iowa Division of Narcotics Enforcement, the Ottumwa Police Department, and the Southeast Iowa Inter-Agency Drug Task Force executed a search warrant at 206 Clayton St. in Ottumwa — the home of Rodney Allen Schnoor.

The officers seized items “consistent with the manufacture of methamphetamine” at the residence. Schnoor, 40, faces charges of manufacture of more than five grams of methamphetamine and unlawful purchase of more than 7,500 milligrams of pseudoephedrine within 30 days.

The manufacturing charge is a Class B felony and carries up to 25 years in prison. The purchasing charge is a serious misdemeanor.

Bail has been set for Schnoor, who is currently being held in the Wapello County Jail, at $100,000.
