Busted! — Nine arrested after massive raids hit Ottumwa

By MATT MILNER Courier staff writer

Some of the suspects also have Iowa court records.

William Edwards was the target of an equity case earlier this year: Credit Bureau Services v. William Edwards DBA Dugout Bar and Grill. The small claims suit sought payment of an outstanding advertising bill from an Ottumwa ad sheet.

In 2006, Miller pleaded guilty to a Wapello County theft charge. He faced harassment charges in Appanoose County, also in 2006. He pleaded guilty to a lesser charge. He has multiple counts of driving while barred and has been labeled a habitual offender.

Miller was also involved in a shooting in Des Moines in August 2005 after an argument with a friend whom Miller was trying to keep from driving while intoxicated. The friend shot Miller, leaving him in critical condition for a time.

Gadberry is scheduled for an October trial involving two drug charges filed last year.

DeLazaro was targeted in a February search warrant. OPD Officer Brandon Gravett filed the warrant application. He cited information from an unidentified “concerned citizen” that linked DeLazaro’s residence to some stolen items. The warrant sought those items along with “any and all burglary tools and kits.”

Officers executed the warrant and seized a television and computer. Court records do not show any charges in the case.

Clark said both businesses are closed and will not reopen. The Dugout surrendered its liquor license on Friday.
