OTTUMWA — Police are investigating an armed robbery at the BP gas station at 720 Richmond Ave. in Ottumwa, and they need the public's help.
The robbery took place at 3:30 a.m. Monday, when a man entered the gas station with a handgun. He took an undisclosed amount of cash and cigarettes, then fled on foot.
The suspect is described as a white male in his mid 20s, 5 foot 7 inches tall, 135 pounds, with dark hair. Any person who may have information about this robbery is asked to call the Ottumwa Police Department Investigations Unit at 641-683-0661.
