Arrests made in second recent burglary ring

OTTUMWA — Authorities have made arrests in another burglary ring, the second such ring targeted in recent days.
On Nov. 18, members of the Ottumwa Police Department and Wapello County Sheriff’s Office executed search warrants at three residences located in Ottumwa.
The first search warrant was at Jeremy Arguello’s residence at 126 S. Iowa Ave. The second search warrant targeted Kevin Hazelwood’s residence at 1846 West Second St., Lot No. 10. A third search warrant was executed at Duston McLaughlin’s residence at 313 N. Moore St.
The warrants turned up items reported stolen in earlier burglaries and charges against all three men.
Arguello, 29, has been charged with theft, ongoing criminal conduct, attempted burglary and 10 counts of burglary.
Hazelwood, 26, was charged with manufacture of marijuana, failure to file a drug tax stamp, attempted burglary, ongoing criminal conduct and eight counts of burglary.
McLaughlin, 29, has been charged with six counts of burglary, ongoing criminal conduct and two counts of aiding and abetting burglary.
The investigation closed cases involving burglaries at The Beach Ottumwa, Jerry’s Truck and Equipment, Morris Furniture, The Ottumwa Recycling Center, Wapello Rural Water, M&J Art Gallery, Dremz Wireless, RMW Vending, SA Poole Leasing, Greiner Implement, the VFW and Albia Road Car Wash.
