Discussing and reviewing a grant application for the county attorney’s office is one of several items on the Wapello County Supervisors’ upcoming agenda.
The board members will meet at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday in the third-floor courtroom in the courthouse.
Supervisor Jerry Parker said Friday that the application involves Victims of Crime Act (VOCA) and Violence Against Women’s Act (VAWA). The legislation pertains to violence against women.
Parker noted the item is an annual thing the supervisors approve.
“Then we submit a grant application to help pay for a couple of workers in the county attorney’s office,” Parker said. “We’ll be doing that again.”
Also on the agenda will be a resolution to approve agreement of three vehicles for the Wapello County Sheriff’s Department.
The supervisors will take the next step toward the new mental health act, according to Parker.
“We’ll be approving a letter of intent to form a three-county region under the new mental health act passed last year by state legislators,” Parker said. “The counties affected are Appanoose, Davis and Wapello counties.”
