FAIRFIELD — Officers of the Fairfield Police Department were involved with an investigation at the Fairfield High School Monday, which turned up no immediate safety concerns.
FHS staff contacted the police department at approximately 8:30 a.m. Monday in reference to possible general threats made over the weekend. The police department immediately responded to the high school to investigate and to secure the area. The investigation was quickly completed, thanks to the cooperation of FHS staff, said a release from the police department. There were no immediate safety concerns identified and no specific threats to any student or staff.
No criminal act has been identified at this time, though the investigation is still ongoing because all possible witnesses have not been identified.
Fairfield Community School District personnel and police officers have attended training and meetings together to improve student safety and communication between the two agencies. Both agencies have agreed there will be zero tolerance when there is even a possible threat to children’s safety.
