OTTUMWA — The Wapello County Board of Supervisors will discuss withdrawing from the State Historical Society Certified Local Government program at its Tuesday meeting.
In a letter drafted to the architectural historian at the State Historic Preservation Office in Des Moines, the board cites difficulty putting together a functioning board, but it also expresses hope to be rejoined at a later time. The letter will be sent upon approval by the supervisors.
In other business, the supervisors will discuss:
• The Iowa Department of Transportation Secondary Road Budget and Secondary Road Construction Program for fiscal year 2015.
• Approval of the county attorney's phone system upgrade.
• Approval of purchasing tandem axle dump trucks for Secondary Roads.
They will also hear a presentation on Skilled Iowa by Linda Rouse of Iowa Workforce.
The meeting will be held at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in the boardroom/courtroom at the Wapello County Courthouse.
