OTTUMWA — The City of Ottumwa has authorized Portzen Construction to begin the first phase of the $16.2 million Flood Protection and Mitigation Project in Ottumwa's west side.
Work will start on Monday at the intersection of McLean and West Main streets.
Motorists can expect street closures and should seek other routes around the work zone. This will be a large, multi-month project. Drivers should remain alert to changing traffic flows and moving equipment in and near the project area.
