After two juries have failed to reach verdicts, Seth Techel’s third trial on murder charges will take place in July.
Judge Daniel Wilson has set the trial to begin July 14 in Davenport. The first trial was in Ottumwa and the second was held in Mt. Pleasant.
Techel is accused of killing his wife, Lisa, while she slept in the couple’s home near Agency.
Techel’s attorneys for the first two trials withdrew after jurors could not agree on a verdict in November. The court has appointed Gerald Feuerhelm as his attorney for the third trial.
Wilson has also ruled Techel’s bond will remain at $750,000. The defense had requested a reduction.
