OTTUMWA — Job Corps sites across the nation, including Ottumwa, are going to start seeing new students again.
The U.S. Department of Labor officially lifted an enrollment freeze Monday, according to Congressman Dave Loebsack's office. The news was not a surprise. Talk of a possible end to the freeze had picked up considerably in April.
Freezing enrollment impacted more than just the prospective students who wanted to learn job skills. Fewer students meant Job Corps sites needed fewer employees.
