BLOOMFIELD — Down the hall and up the stairs at the old elementary school in Bloomfield, now the Old School Social Center, is a haven for anyone who loves books.
From now through July 26, the Friends of the Bloomfield Public Library are hosting a used book sale from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday each week. Thousands of books, movies, magazines and music are available, as many people found out Saturday, its opening day.
Proceeds from the sale will go to the building addition fund and be used to make the library more handicapped-accessible.
So many books have been collected for the sale that they don't all fit in the room set aside for the Friends. Instead, many are being stored under the tables and in a separate storage facility. Once the first set of books begin to thin out, the ones on the table will be brought out to replace them and more will take their place under the table.
The moral of the story is: come back and come often. You're sure to find something new.
