OTTUMWA — A local doctor running for a seat in the U.S. House of Representatives is "neck and neck" with her rival when it comes to fundraising.
According to a release from Dr. Mariannette Miller-Meeks, an Ottumwa Republican, her second quarter support is $247,000. Congressman Dave Loebsack, the incumbent, brought in $248,000.
Candidates are required to post how much they've earned in contributions per campaign finance laws.
The Miller-Meeks campaign says "these fundraising numbers demonstrate that the momentum has been moving in her direction since she entered the race, and it is now squarely behind Dr. Miller-Meeks because her message is resonating with Iowans."
