A Cincinnati man faces charges of attempted murder following an incident late last week.
On Monday, Centerville Police arrested Christopher Michael Brown, 39, of Cincinnati, and charged him with attempt to commit murder, a Class B felony, as well as possession of drug paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor.
According to the police, the attemped murder charge stems from an altercation that occured at about 11 p.m. Friday in the 1500 block of West Van Buren Street in Centerville. During the incident, police said Brown displayed a knife while “informing the victim that he was going to kill him.” Brown allegedly attacked the man and cut the left side of the victim’s neck. The incident was stopped by bystanders, and Brown left the area.
When police arrested Brown, he was found to be possession of a marijuana pipe, which resulted in the drug paraphernalia charge.
Brown is currently being held in the Appanoose County Jail.
