FAIRFIELD — A search warrant executed by the Fairfield Police Department has led to the discovery of a rather large marijuana growing operation close to the Fairfield High School.
Police officials executed the search warrant on Wednesday at a home located at 409 E. Hempstead Ave., owned by 63-year-old Campbell John Hair.
The officers discovered Hair had more than 100 plants that are suspected to be marijuana growing in the home, and they also seized other large amounts of evidence.
Hair was initially charged with manufacturing marijuana within 1,000 feet of a school; possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance; drug tax stamp violation; keeping a dwelling for the purpose of keeping, possessing, selling or using a controlled substance; and possession of drug paraphernalia. He may also receive additional charges, because the investigation is ongoing.
The Fairfield Police Department expressed thanks to the Jefferson County Attorney’s Office for their assistance in the investigation.
