Child endangerment trial pushed back

Ottumwa Courier

---- — OTTUMWA — A Swisher man accused of seriously injuring an Ottumwa infant will go to trial later this year.

Law enforcement found Michael Geoffrey Blair, 25, in an attic in Ely, a small town south of Cedar Rapids, in January. He was arrested on a warrant for multiple acts of child endangerment, a class B felony.

On Dec. 7, the Ottumwa Police Department responded to Ottumwa Regional Health Center on a report of a 2-month-old infant in the emergency room with serious injuries.

During a hearing this week, Blair’s trial was pushed back to Dec. 3. His pre-trial conference will be held Nov. 4.
