---- — OTTUMWA — The Bridge View Center will be filled with exhibits, displays, history, food, games and activities for the whole family during the week-long Wapello County 4-H Expo July 16-20.

Admission and activities are free, and each day is packed with a variety of events. While much of the focus is on the shows, interviews and judging for the 4-H entrants, there will also be crafts, story times and games for kids of all ages.

"The animals will be at Bridge View, so people can walk through and stop and watch the shows," said Katie Streeby, Wapello County Youth Coordinator for Iowa State University Extension. "Anyone can come and see what the 4H kids have done, and the Extension staff will have other kids' activities, too. It's a good way to promote 4-H and get more kids involved."

For the adults, woodworking workshops, music concerts and tractor displays will be held throughout the week. Vintage Cruisers will present their 16th annual car show on July 20, which will include a Show and Shine during the day at Bridge View, voting at lunchtime and cruise at the Greater Ottumwa Park shelter house from 5-8 p.m.

The Carl Willhoit Memorial Sweet Corn Feed will be held in the plaza from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday. Tickets can be purchased in advance from ISU Extension or on the day of the event.

Monday night's kick-off event is the 4-H Expo royalty pageant at 7 p.m. Tuesday's horse show is open to the public and will be held at the Greater Ottumwa Park arena from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. All of Wednesday's events are for 4-H kids and their projects.
