Arrest made in string of house shootings
OTTUMWA — Authorities have arrested a man they accuse of shooting at rural homes.
On Nov. 14, 2012, the Wapello County Sheriff’s Office received a call that someone had just shot into a residence. Deputies responded to 11882 55th St. south of Ottumwa. Deputies discovered a bullet hole in the side of the residence.
A press release from deputies says they arrested Zachary Lee Davidson, 19, of Ottumwa, on April 26. They’d also arrested a juvenile, age 17, in November. Each has been charged with intimidation with a dangerous weapon.
While on scene of the first shooting, a second call was taken at 12443 55th St. There was also a bullet hole into the side of that residence. The next day, the Wapello County Sheriff’s Office took a call about a bullet hole in a vehicle located at 6091 Cemetery Road south of Agency.
Authorities conducted an investigation which culminated in the arrest of Davidson. He has been released from jail after posting bond.
