“Within this program, one that has not yet reached its second birthday, close to three-fourths of a $1 million has been distributed to our nonprofits. In many cases, this funding is absolutely critical to their survival and to the survival of the programs and services they provide. We are proud to partner with them in this vital work,” said Kelly Genners, the foundation's director of community leadership and grant-making.
The Bright Ideas program awarded its first grant in September 2011 and since that time 61 grants have been awarded to 45 different nonprofit organizations providing services to the city of Ottumwa and Wapello County.
The next grant cycle begins June 1. Applicants may apply online at www.orlf.org from June 1-30. Eligible applicants must be a 501(c)(3) organization. For more information, contact Genners at 641-455-5260 or via email at email@example.com.
