---- — OTTUMWA — The Ottumwa Park Advisory Board held its monthly meeting on Tuesday, and items discussed were improvements to the Babe Ruth fields, the emergence of the Emerald Ash Borer in southern Iowa, a proposal for more Christmas trees in the Central Park stage area this year and rules for the Ottumwa Park Campground.
The board approved the renovations to the Babe Ruth fields, which included combining the present restroom and concession buildings into one. The plan is to expand on the present concession building and tear down the old restroom facilities. Babe Ruth officials will now take the necessary steps to figure out the funding and discuss what to do further.
All of the other items of business, except for the Christmas tree proposal which will be recommended to City Council, were moved to be brought up again at later meetings.
