OTTUMWA — The rains may have disappointed overnight, but the light show Ottumwans could see sure didn't.
Southeast Iowa got a rare, late-season severe weather threat and lightning lit up skies to the west. The threat of severe weather continues today, with the Storm Prediction Center placing almost all of the state in the slight risk category. The northwestern third of the state falls into the moderate risk category. That's close enough to be worth keeping an eye on as the day progresses.
