---- — OTTUMWA—The Noon Lions held their annual Pancake Day breakfast on Saturday at the Jimmy Jones Shelter inside Greater Ottumwa Park.
The all-you-care-to-eat breakfast lasted from 6 a.m. until noon, and the proceeds were donated to the Iowa Sight Conservation Foundation, Iowa Lions Eye Bank, eye glasses for needy children, Boy Scout camp, YMCA, youth softball, Hospice, Red Cross and Salvation Army.
Some of the Lions members stayed overnight on Friday, since all of the food and cooking items were brought to the shelter the day before.
The Lions members stay true to their motto, “We Serve,” by doing whatever they can to help the community, according to member Charlie Rooker.
