OTTUMWA — Police say they have arrested an Ottumwa man for kidnapping after he allegedly held a woman against her will for more than two weeks.
Authorities received the report on October 10. The woman, whose name has not been released, said she was confined against her will from Sept. 24 to October 9. She also said she was sexually assaulted during that time.
Adem Geleto Anota, 33, 113 ½ S. Fellows Ave., faces charges of kidnapping in the first degree, a Class A felony. He has pleaded not guilty and faces life in prison if convicted.
He is being held in the Wapello County Jail on a $150,000 cash-only bond.
