Anglers are encouraged to try their luck with the trout but only with the proper licensure. For trout fishing, the state requires anyone over the age of 16 to have a license, and he or she has to pay an additional trout fee of $12.50 for Iowa residents or $15 for nonresidents. Anyone under the age of 16 is permitted to fish for trout if they are with an adult who has the license and has paid the fee.
The limit for the number of trout a person can bag in a day is five, and if an adult is combined with an underage angler, they can bag five combined.
