BATAVIA — The Batavia Haunted House, in conjunction with the Ottumwa Hillbilly Shrine Unit, opens this weekend.
Located in the old elevator in downtown Batavia at the end of Main Street, the haunted house will be open from 7-11 p.m. Friday and Saturday, from 7-11 p.m. Oct. 25-26 and 7-11 p.m. Nov. 1-2.
The admission fee is $5. Money raised is used to promote Batavia Days each summer, as well as fund scholarships in the Cardinal and Fairfield districts. The Cardinal seventh- and eighth-graders will be participating, and those funds go directly to the students, who are raising money for their trip to Washington, D.C.
