Hy-Vee offers free breakfast for veterans

Ottumwa Courier

---- — OTTUMWA — Ottumwa's Hy-Vee stores are joining other Hy-Vee stores throughout the Midwest in celebrating Veterans Day by offering a free breakfast to all veterans and active-duty military members.

Both the North Hy-Vee and South Hy-Vee will serve breakfast from 4-11 a.m. Monday.

The buffet is complimentary for veterans and open to others at a small cost.

Companywide, Hy-Vee expects to serve more than 70,000 veterans and their guests this year at more than 200 Hy-Vee stores in eight states.

The Veterans Day Breakfast is a part of Hy-Vee Homefront, an ongoing initiative to raise awareness of and support for organizations serving our nation’s military members, veterans and their families. From Nov. 6-16, Hy-Vee stores will be conducting a Round Up For the Homefront campaign with customers invited to “round up” their purchases to the nearest dollar. Hy-Vee will match customer contributions up to $100,000 with all proceeds benefiting organizations that assist veterans.
