Red Cross, Casey's partner to aid disaster relief

DES MOINES — The American Red Cross serving Greater Iowa announces a generous donation program at Casey’s General Stores. Customers will have the opportunity to give to the Red Cross at all Casey’s locations in Iowa, Nebraska and the Sioux Falls, South Dakota, area.

The American Red Cross is working around the clock to help people in the affected areas after Monday’s devastating tornadoes, high winds and flooding with shelters, food, water and supplies. The Red Cross has deployed two of its emergency response vehicles to distribute food and relief supplies and more are on alert.

Volunteers from the Northwest Iowa Area are providing assistance to more than 10 people displaced in a hotel fire in Storm Lake Monday night. This is in addition to overnight sheltering for more than 100 people in Cherokee, Rock Rapids and Rock Valley due to flooding in the area from Monday’s severe weather.

If someone would like to help people affected by these disasters, they can make a donation to support American Red Cross Disaster Relief by visiting www.redcross.org, calling 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767) or texting the word REDCROSS to 90999 to make a $10 donation. You may also visit any Casey’s General Store to make your gift.
