OTTUMWA — The Ottumwa Municipal Band will perform its third concert of the season at 7 p.m. Thursday in Central Park. The theme for this week is “I Love New York” and will feature vocalist Torie Hollingsworth performing selections from “West Side Story.”
The band, directed by Brenda Hagedon, is in its 150th season of summer performances. This week’s complete program includes "The Star-Spangled Banner," "Skyline Overture," "West Side Story," "I Vow to Thee — My Country," "The Big Cage," "Broadway Center Stage," "Autumn in New York," "Manhattan Square Dance," "The Blues Brothers Revue," "United Nations March" and "America, the Beautiful."
The audience is reminded to bring chairs or blankets for their seating comfort. In case of inclement weather, the concert will be moved to Quincy Place Mall. Any change of location will be announced on GOTV, channel 6 in Ottumwa, and the Ottumwa Municipal Band Facebook page.
The Ottumwa Municipal Band would like to let the community know that next week, the concert will be moved from Thursday night to Wednesday night, June 25. They will be performing at the Jimmy Jones Shelter in Greater Ottumwa Park in conjunction with the Balloon Races. Please mark your calendar with this change.
