MORAVIA — Nearly four years ago, former Moravia Union publisher Vicki Baty started a research project centering on past Fall Festivals. The project became an absorbing and intriguing journey through more than a century of history, not only of Fall Festival but of that community and the lives of five generations of Moravians.
The book is entitled “Moravia Fall Festival – Over a Century of Tradition Celebrating the Heart & Heritage of Moravia, Iowa." The finished book is soft cover, spiral bound and contains 45 pages with details and highlights of festivals from 1905-2013. There are also quotes and personal memories, as well as more than 50 photos from past celebrations.
All of the profits from the sale of this book will go directly to Fall Festival. Contact Vicki Baty by mail at P.O. Box 363, Moravia, Iowa 52571, call 641-724-9851 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org. Checks should be made payable to Moravia Fall Festival. Books can be mailed anywhere in the U.S. for additional postage per book. They will also be offered for sale in the Big Tent at this year’s 109th Moravia Fall Festival.
