Ottumwa Courier

---- — BLAKESBURG — Loving Shepherd Food Pantry and Blakesburg community organizations are sponsoring A Small Town Christmas this Saturday from 5-9 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m at the old Elementary School located on T 61 on the south edge of Blakesburg.

Children are sure to enjoy a visit with Santa. People of all ages are sure to enjoy an indoor stroll through decorated, Christmas-themed classrooms, followed by a hearty meal while visiting with family friends.

On Saturday, the menu features chili and vegetable soup with all-you-care-to-eat salad and dessert bars. Sunday's menu features hamballs, chicken and noodles and all the trimmings, plus well-stocked soup and salad bars. Food will be served from 5-8 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday. A freewill donation will be collected at each meal.

Admission to the classrooms is $3 for adults and $1 for children 6-years-old and older and is good for both days of the event. Proceeds will go to help Loving Shepherd Food Pantry meet every increasing needs of community members dealing with the growing problem of food insecurity.
