Fairfield ICVB announces grant recipients

---- — FAIRFIELD — The Fairfield Convention and Visitors Bureau has announced the 2014 grant recipients.

The Bureau’s grant program assists organizations in providing excellence in cultural, civic and educational programs to attract visitors to the Fairfield area and enhance the quality of life for its residents. The Bureau has awarded $15,500 to assist with the promotion of 28 events and activities.

The Bureau awarded grants for the following events: Fairfield 1st Fridays Art Walk, EcoFairfield Food and the Future of Seeds, EcoFairfield Spring Fair, Jefferson County Trails Council Map and Brochure, KRUU-FM FAIRfest, Fairfield Cultural Alliance Self-Guided Heritage Trail Brochure, Fairfield Area Soccer Association Spring Tournament, Southeast Iowa Blues Society Blues Society Concert, ICON Gallery Abstract Exhibit, Society of Fairfield Italian Americans All Things Italian Street Festival & Masters Series, Bluegrass Music Society of Iowa Showcase of Bands, Live On the Square Summer Concert Series, Werner Elmker’s Vocal Cords to Cane to Bagpipes to Organ Concert, Orpheum Theater Heartland Film Series, Fairfield Art Association Summer Art Installation, Maasdam Barns Museum Crawl and the Fairfield Musical Society Makin’ Music with Dave Concert.

The Bureau’s grant program distributes financial assistance following the submission of receipts and invoices and review of grantee compliance of conditions set forth in the Bureau’s grant application. The Bureau, along with the grant funds, offers assistance in marketing, public relations and event planning to grant recipients. The Bureau grant program is supported by Fairfield’s lodging tax, created in 2001 by popular ballot.
