Celebrate Grant Wood with soup smorgasbord Feb. 8

ELDON — Join the American Gothic House Center for the Grant Wood Birthday Soup Smorgasbord from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Feb. 8 at the KD Center in Eldon. The event is held in celebration of Grant Wood's 123rd birthday.

Sample several of the many soups to choose from or have a bowlful of your favorite. The meal comes with a side of fresh-baked bread and vegetables. Complete the feast with a slice of birthday cake or a delicious brownie.

Door prizes will be awarded throughout the event, donated by Chommy's, Just A'little Junk'e in the Trunk, Libertyville Savings Bank and Ostrander Flowers and Greenhouses.

Freewill donations are welcome, and proceeds fund educational programs at the American Gothic House Center.
