OTTUMWA — Donald R. Martz, 81, of 303 Tacoma Ave., died at 5:46 p.m. November 22, 2013, at his home.
He was born September 6, 1932, in Ottumwa to Richard and Marian Simmons Martz.
After serving in the U.S. Army, he worked for Burlington Northern Railroad, Hertz and Lowenberg Bakery. He then worked 30 years for the Wapello County Secondary Road Department, retiring in 1998.
He had been a member of Davis St. Christian Church and was an avid fisherman and coon hunter.
Surviving are three sons, Steve (Colleen) Martz and Michael (Sylvia) Martz, both of Ottumwa, and Donald R. (Karen) Martz Jr. of Oskaloosa; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a sister, Judy Tuttle of Ottumwa.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Kathy Storto; a brother, Robert Martz; and a sister, Ramona Martz.
His body has been cremated. Celebration of Life services will be held at a later date.
