BLOOMFIELD — Marjorie L. Martsching, 90, of Bloomfield, died February 10, 2014, at The Good Samaritan Society-Ottumwa.
She was born July 15, 1923, in Ottumwa to Blaine and Sarah Bower Rupe. She married John A. Martsching on December 25, 1943. He preceded her in death on January 16, 2008.
After her family was raised, Marjorie drove the bus for Cardinal schools and had worked in the Senior kitchen.
She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church.
Surviving are her children, Willetta (Walt) Brantley of Medina, Texas, and Tim (Krissnee) Martsching of Orlando, Fla.; two grandchildren, Jeffrey (Keri) Brantley of Bargerville, Ind., and Melinda (Rod) Seay of Whitetown, Ind.; four great-grandchildren, Kathryn, Jordan, Haley and Peyten; several honorary grandchildren, including Chanond, Tara and Ravinda; a brother, William Rupe of Eldon; a sister, Peggy (Steve) West of Blakesburg; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a grandson, Talais Martsching; two sisters, Bonnie Batterson and Nellie Bradshaw; three brothers, Jim, Jack and Dick Rupe.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul Lutheran Church with Rev. Ron Barnett officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery.
Visitation begins at 11 a.m. Friday at Reece Funeral Home with the family present from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday.
