ELDON — Harry L. Williams Sr., 78, of 102 W. Walnut St. died February 15, 2014 at The Good Samaritan Society-Ottumwa.
He was born March 30, 1935 in Kirkville, IA to Albert A. and Wanda L. Houston Williams. He married Evelyn Weeks on October 15, 1960.
Having served in the U.S. Marine Corps, he lived most of his life in Wapello and Davis counties. He worked construction, Rockwell International and drove truck for many years.
He is a member of Am Vets. Harry loved wood working, playing cards and being with family.
Surviving are his wife, Evelyn; his children, Patty (Rick) Hunt, Sr. of Eldon, Rosa (Darryl) Archer of Pulaski, George (Mick) Nichols of Ottumwa, Esther (James) Fine of Floris, Kevin (Terri) Williams of Bloomfield and Harry (Janita) Williams Jr. of Bloomfield; 14 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; three brothers, Larry (Lois) Williams of Ottumwa, Paul “Happy” (Veon) Williams of Des Moines, Bill Williams of Illinois; four sisters, Edna Shelton of Oregon, Wilma Hanson of Texas, Linda (Jim) Robinson of Illinois and Doris Pilcher of Des Moines.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Richard Nichols; a granddaughter, Crystal Hunt; two brothers, Charles and Randy Williams; and a sister, Marie Bukowski.
His body has been cremated. A memorial service may be held at a later date.
