ALBIA — Doris May Morgan, 90, of Albia, died Thursday, Feb. 20, 2014, at Monroe Care Center in Albia.
Doris was born Jan. 17, 1924, to Clyde O. and Bertha S. (Sheriff) Carter in Haydock. She married Jack Junior Morgan on Oct. 1, 1954, in Chariton. They shared 37 years together before his passing on May 8, 1992.
Doris grew up and attended school in Monroe County and later worked at a box factory in Albia. She was a member of Seventh Day Adventist Church in Albia. She enjoyed trapping with Jack, baking and spending time with her grandchildren.
Doris is survived by a daughter, Sandy (Jim) Conley of Albia; three grandchildren, Kevin Conley of Lewisburg, Kan., Amy (Nic) Robinson of Bondurant, and Molly (Jake Harvey) Conley of Jersey City, N.J.; and three great-grandchildren, Jase and Lane Robinson and Jack Conley.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jack; four sisters, Ellen Griffin, Irene Griffin, Hazel Griffin and Velta Martin; and five brothers, Culver, Everett, Floyd, Carl and Fred Carter.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Sunday at Tharp Funeral Home in Albia; with Pastor Abel Hagan. Burial will be in Oak View Cemetery in Albia.
Visitation will be from 9-11 a.m. Sunday at the funeral home with Doris’ family present.
An open memorial has been established in Doris’ name.
