Clara Ancell

OTTUMWA — Clara L. Ancell, 85, formerly of 1229 S. Milner, died at 1:32 p.m. February 20, 2014 at Parkview Care Center in Fairfield.

She was born March 2, 1928 in Malden, MO to Jack and Bessie Rhodes Hedrick. She married Ruben Eastwood, they later divorced. She married Eugene Ancell and he preceded her in death.

Clara enjoyed going to garage sales and playing card games, especially UNO.

Surviving are her eight children, Carolyn (Charley) Morey, Linda Throgmartin, Nancy (Arthur) Receveur, all of Ottumwa, Darrell (Peggy) Eastwood of Williamsville, MO, Janice (Howard) Tubb, Phyllis Anderson, Steve Eastwood all of Ottumwa and Karen Koth of Grinnell; 25 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; 23 great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Harvey Hedrick of Hammond, IN.

She was preceded in death by a son Richard Lonnie Eastwood; two infant daughters, Pamela and Teresa Eastwood.

Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Monday at Reece Funeral Home with her great-grandson, Tommy Wilkins officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery.

Visitation begins at 1 p.m. Sunday with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday.

Memorials may be made to the family.
