OSKALOOSA — Maureen J. Abbott, 66, of Davenport, passed away Feb. 7, 2014, at Genesis Medical Center-West Central Park, Davenport.
Maureen was born Aug. 28, 1947, in Oskaloosa, the daughter of Marinus and Geneva (Sheppard) Aalbers. She was united in marriage to Jim Abbott in Scott County.
She was a self-employed house cleaner and home health care provider. She loved spending time with her family and playing euchre. She was a devoted mother and loved her pets. She was a member of Davenport VFW Auxiliary Post 828 and the Davenport Moose.
She is survived by her husband, Jim of Davenport; one son, Michael (Robin) Dudley of Davenport; grandchild, Bryce Mendez of California; sisters, Jackie McElroy of Ottumwa and Janet (John) Richards of Ottumwa; and a brother, Richard (Pam) Aalbers of Ottumwa.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Johnny; a niece, Buffy; and nephew, Gary Jr.; and good friends, Ronald Thompson and Babe Denger.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
